Before joining J Street’s Political team, Ben Sheridan was an intern on FleishmanHillard DC’s public affairs team. At FH, Ben supported consumer products, professional sports, domestic energy, transportation, technology, public health and foreign government clients to help build and protect their Capitol Hill and CSR identities through strategic message development, international policy, and issues monitoring and stakeholder engagement. In 2014, Ben worked for the New York State Democratic Party on Domenic Recchia’s field team in Staten Island. Prior to the Recchia campaign, Ben lived in Moore, Oklahoma, managing volunteers on disaster recovery sites with the Jewish Disaster Response Corps. Ben’s diverse experience include roles in political communications and strategy, advocacy, fundraising, virtual diplomacy and non-profit development. He brings first-hand knowledge of the Jewish communal world, having spent time working with AJC, Encounter, Birthright, Hillel, MASA and JFNA. Ben graduated with honors from Binghamton University and studied political science and international affairs. Before Binghamton, Ben studied Hebrew, Arabic, Jewish Diaspora studies and Middle East political history on Kivunim in Jerusalem. After work you can find him watching New York professional sports teams, teaching at Hebrew School or trying a DC food truck.
