Ilya joined J Street in 2013, previously serving as Development Associate. Prior to this, Ilya spent almost two years working in development at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. After receiving his BA in History and Religious Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2010, Ilya went on to complete his MA in History at Kent State University. As a graduate student, Ilya’s work focused on the rise of extreme right-wing groups and fascist ideology in Weimar Germany. While at Kent State University, Ilya spent a month in Berlin, Germany studying German and conducting primary source research at the Federal Archives. Born in Russia, and raised in Israel and Wisconsin, Ilya now resides in Washington, DC.
