Jessica joins J Street after working for nearly two years at the New Israel Fund as the DC Regional Development Associate. At NIF, Jessica coordinated community outreach and development programs to bolster NIF’s regional support. Jessica graduated Summa Cum Laude from Syracuse University with a BA in English and Textual Studies and Policy Studies. Upon graduation, Jessica taught high school English for three years at an all-girls public high school in North Philadelphia as part of Teach For America and concurrently earned a MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She then spent a year in Jerusalem, Israel studying as part of the Social Justice Track at the Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies, volunteering at the Jerusalem Open House and various Jerusalem-based NGOs. She returned to her hometown in Maryland, and as a Jeremiah Fellow with Jews United for Justice, worked on the leadership teams to successfully pass marriage equality and the DREAM act in Maryland as well as an increase in the Maryland minimum wage. She earned a Certificate in Jewish Education for Adolescents and Emerging Adults from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, where she studied and developed curricula related to Israel Education and Engagement.
