In 2012, an unprecedented amount of money was spent on efforts to turn support for Israel into a partisan wedge issue. Because most American Jews don't vote based on Israel - and actually support a two-state solution and US leadership to achieve it - millions upon millions of dollars were essentially wasted. President Ahmadinejad, whose anti-Israel and anti-Semitic statements have repeatedly threatened Israel’s survival and the Jewish people’s historic connection to that land, degrades the standing of the UN and undermines both the spirit and letter of the UN Charter with each such address.
