Don't go, Joe!

May 27th, 2008

Even after Sen. McCain renounced Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement in May, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) is still standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Pastor Hagee, the man who preaches Hitler was only doing God's bidding. Watch the video on the left -- Joe Lieberman calls Hagee "a man of God" at Hagee's group's conference last year. Then, join the tens of thousands of Americans who have signed our "Don't Go, Joe" petition and tell Sen. Lieberman to withdraw his commitment to speak at Hagee's Israel Summit. We did it! John McCain renounced Hagee!

May 23rd, 2008

After disturbing new audiotape surfaced of Rev. Hagee saying that God sent Hitler to cause the Holocaust so that Jews would move to Israel, tens of thousands of J Street and MoveOn activists signed a petition asking McCain to finally renounce Hagee's endorsement. Soon after we launched the action, John McCain announced that he was rejecting Hagee's endorsement. We did it! Unfortunately, Hagee's ties to mainstream American politicians and prominent Jewish leaders remain deep. McCain's rejection of Hagee's endorsement is by no means the end of J Street's efforts to rid the American political scene of Hagee's hateful rhetoric. Stay tuned for our upcoming campaigns. That's offensive, Mr. President

May 15th, 2008

Speaking to Israel's Parliament, President Bush accused those who believe in diplomacy to make America and Israel safe of indulging in a "foolish delusion" and the "false comfort of appeasement." Even more offensive, he likened us to those who favored talking to rather than defeating Adolf Hitler on the eve of World War II. How dare he invoke the memory of the Holocaust to justify his disastrous policies. Write to Bush now and tell him - Shame on you! Read More...

What should a President give Israel at 60?

March 30th, 2008

George Bush heads to Israel this week for Israel’s 60th birthday bash. And what’s the gift he’s bringing? More of the same weak leadership and failed policies that have made America, Israel, and the Middle East less safe. Is that the kind of present you bring to a friend’s 60th birthday party? We don’t think so. Thankfully, Bush is on his way out, and soon a new President will be able to chart a new course for America in the Middle East. They need to hear from us! Let’s demand strong American leadership from McCain, Obama, and Clinton to establish permanent, agreed-upon and secure borders for Israel and a path to peace and security for the whole Middle East. Take action now. Read More...
