ME-02
The district: Maine’s 2nd Congressional District (ME-02) is the second-most rural district in the United States and has been represented by Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin since 2015. Prior to Poliquin’s victory, the district had long been represented by Democrats, and it is rated as a toss-up by the Cook Political Report. In June, Golden secured the Democratic nomination in the race for ME-02 with 48.7% of the vote following a three-way primary.
Our Candidate: Jared Golden is the Democratic nominee for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District (ME-02). Golden a Marine Corps veteran, and he served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has represented the city of Lewiston in the Maine Legislature as a Democrat since 2014 and is currently the Assistant Majority Leader in the Maine House.
