Over the last 5 election cycles, J Street has built up a strong political operation in the midwest, supporting candidates in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. The region features some of J Street’s longtime champions including Democratic Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL-9), Rep. Bill Foster (IL-11), House of Representatives Dean Rep. John Conyers (MI-14), Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee Rep. Keith Ellison (MN-5) and Senators Tammy Baldwin (WI) and Sherrod Brown (OH).

The Midwest region will feature some of the most contested races of the 2018 election cycle.  J Street will prioritize supporting Senators Tammy Baldwin and Sherrod Brown, who are both expected to face tough re-election bids.
