J Street Board Member
Nancy Becker is chair of the Greater Portland J Street chapter and is a retired registered dietitian. She has successfully lobbied for nutrition policy initiatives at local, state and federal levels, was a member of the national PAC for nutrition and dietetics issues and has over 40 years of experience in grassroots organizing on Middle East and other progressive issues. She is a veteran of several political campaigns and currently serves on the board of the Women’s Investment Network PAC in Oregon. The daughter of refugees from 1930’s Germany, her interest in refugees and immigration has inspired her political work. She received the Portland, Oregon “Song of Miriam Award” in 2019 as a member of her Reconstructionist synagogue. She lives with her husband in Portland; they have two grown sons.
