Amichai comes to J Street as a recovering political staffer with a recent background in Jewish nonprofit and community work. He is a proud graduate of THE Ohio State University (2017), where he earned a B.A. in Political Science with a specialization in American Politics, and Carleton University (2019), where he earned a Master’s in Political Management.

Throughout his career, Amichai has held a wide range of community and policy roles across all levels of government in both the U.S. and Canada, including: Legislative Liaison for Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care; Chief of Staff to former Pennsylvania State Representative Greg Vitali; Government Affairs Manager for the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services; and Policy Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs. His most recent roles in the Jewish community include Director of the JCRC of Greater Toledo and Senior Director of Combating Antisemitism with the Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix.

Amichai is thrilled to be back in his favorite city of all time (Philadelphia, Go Birds!) doing meaningful work building out J Street’s support network in the Mid-Atlantic region. He’d love to tell you his hobbies include being a coffeeshop snob, reading halachic texts, and savoring a good bourbon and cigar, but you’ll more often than not find him at a local park with his wife and daughter or volunteering at his shul.
