Maya is an educator and activist. She came to J Street after working for New Story Leadership, an Israel/Palestine advocacy and dialogue organization. Prior to working for NSL, Maya attended American University where she graduated with a degree in International Affairs. While at American University, Maya focused her studies on peace, global security, and conflict resolution in the Middle East. She was the co-chair of the J Street U chapter and an intern at the university’s Hillel. Raised in Monterey, California, Maya spent her summers at URJ Camp Newman and spent a year in Israel with Netzer Olami, a program of the World Union for Progressive Judaism. Maya is now a resident of Washington, DC.
