Shimrit Braun Kamin is joining J Street as the Northwest Regional Director after serving for over seven years as the Associate Director of the New Israel Fund in the Bay Area. In addition to her work with NIF, she has been a key leader at UneXeptable, leading rallies and events in support of the Israeli protest movement. Born and raised in a kibbutz in Israel, she has been a lifelong peace activist and officially joined the pro-peace world as the Director of Project Management and Public Activity at the Geneva Initiative. Prior to that, she worked on Israeli TV in political and news programs. Moving to the US, Shimrit spent a few years in San Diego, where she became a J Street San Diego chapter leadership member before relocating to the Bay Area.
