Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran soldiers who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the Second Intifada and have taken it upon themselves to expose the Israeli public to the reality of everyday life in the Palestinian Territories. The speakers were all raised in the US before deciding to move to Israel and enlist in the IDF. They come from Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox backgrounds and served in the Palestinian Territories in the last decade. Through a moderated panel and audience Q&A, they will share their unique perspective as both American Jews and former Israeli soldiers.
