Frequently Asked Questions

What is Let Our People Know?

“Let Our People Know” (LOPK) began as a student-run campaign demanding the inclusion of multiple narratives and the realities of the occupation in Israel trips. The campaign culminated in a 10-day tour of Israel which included meaningful engagement with key questions related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the occupation, and the status of minority groups in Israel. Today, students who are spending time in Israel can also encounter Israel in these meaningful ways by participating in “Let Our People Know” day tours. The LOPK day tours are designed for American undergraduate students who wish to delve into the challenges and opportunities facing Israelis and Palestinians working on behalf of peace, democracy, social justice and a two-state solution. Students hear from leading figures across the political spectrum and deepen their understanding of the major issues around a resolution to the conflict.

How do I make LOPK trips a part of my gap year/study abroad program?

J Street Israel Organizer Eve Lifson works with students and staff of study abroad and gap year programs in Israel, to make LOPK a part of their Israel experience. We offer a variety of programs including day tours, lectures, and workshops. Study abroad and gap year programs from across the political and ideological spectrum have chosen to work with J Street in order to assure their students don’t leave Israel without a deepened understanding of the major issues surrounding this conflict. LOPK tours for gap year and study abroad programs are typically one day or half day tours.

If you think your study abroad or gap year program would benefit from a LOPK tour, please contact Israel Organizer Eve Lifson at eve@jstreet.org.
