This week, J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami issued the following statement:
J Street applauds the decision by John Hagee Ministries to discontinue its support and funding for the Israeli non-profit Im Tirtzu. John Hagee Ministries and J Street may disagree on a number of issues, but we see eye-to-eye when it comes to Im Tirtzu’s mission and tactics, including its attack on Naomi Chazan and the New Israel Fund and its recent call for a boycott of Ben-Gurion University. Im Tirtzu is clearly not simply the educational organization that it sold to funders like Pastor Hagee but has a clear political agenda – and we’re glad that John Hagee Ministries has chosen to disassociate itself from its work.
