The J Street community is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former US Senator Carl Levin, a man of integrity, honesty and principle.
He will be remembered in the Senate for his steadfast commitment to the people of Michigan, for his passionate belief in the power of diplomacy, his razor-sharp wit and intelligence, and for his pursuit of truth and justice, even when not politically convenient. At J Street, we will be forever grateful for the candid advice he shared with us, for the good humor and selflessness he brought to the Senate, and for the fearlessness of his leadership.
Our thoughts on this sad day are with his family, his friends and the entire state of Michigan. May his memory be a blessing.
