John Dingell’s pro-Israel, pro-peace voice will be missed in Congress

February 24, 2014

J Street endorsee Congressman John D. Dingell’s (MI-12) announcement today that he will retire at the end of his 29th term in Congress is bittersweet news. We wish the Congressman well in his retirement but know that his voice as a tireless advocate for two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be sorely missed in Congress.

Congressman Dingell leaves an inspiring legacy after nearly six decades of public service. A champion of opportunities and dignity for every person, Rep. Dingell’s distinguished work on civil rights, access to heath care and safe and secure jobs at home complements a proud record promoting essential American interests, security and values in a world that changed profoundly during his career. We thank Congressman Dingell for his vision, guidance and friendship these many years.
