J Street Hosts Vice President Joe Biden for Reception in Support of Biden-Harris Campaign

Presidential Nominee Discusses US Foreign Policy with Leading Pro-Israel, Pro-Peace Group

September 10, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC — J Street, the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans, today hosted Vice President Joe Biden for a virtual reception in support of the Biden-Harris presidential campaign.

The Democratic nominee joined members of the advocacy group for a discussion about the future of American international leadership, their shared commitment to peacefully resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the urgent need to defeat Donald Trump.

“Like the vast majority of American Jews, J Street’s top priority is to do all that we can between now and November to help defeat Donald Trump and his enablers, elect the Biden-Harris ticket and bring our country the new leadership it so desperately needs,” said J Street’s president Jeremy Ben-Ami. “We’re deeply honored to have hosted Vice President Biden for this event to support his campaign, and to hear some of his vision for how the next administration can promote peace and democratic values in the Middle East and counter the rising forces of xenophobia and bigotry here in the United States.”

To date in the 2020 cycle, JStreetPAC has raised over $2 million from its members in contributions for the Biden-Harris campaign and over $5 million in contributions to its over 185 endorsed House and Senate candidates.

J Street formally endorsed Biden for president in April 2020, the organization’s first-ever endorsement of a presidential candidate. Welcoming the endorsement, Biden stated at that time that “J Street has been a powerful voice to advance social justice here at home, and to advocate for a two-state solution that advances Middle East Peace. I share with J Street’s membership an unyielding dedication to the survival and security of Israel, and an equal commitment to creating a future of peace and opportunity for Israeli and Palestinian children alike.”
