WASHINGTON, DC — JStreetPAC, the political fundraising arm of the pro-Israel, pro-peace group J Street, announced today its endorsement of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, as the Speaker runs for re-election in California’s 11th Congressional District. The formal endorsement affirms the strong relationship between J Street and one of the Democratic party’s most important leaders.
“Throughout her incredibly distinguished tenure as a Member of Congress and as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has proven herself to be a true leader in promoting pro-Israel, pro-peace policies that advance the true interests of both the United States and Israel,” said J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami. “As a true champion for strong diplomacy, Speaker Pelosi played an invaluable, leading role in shepherding the JCPOA through the House in 2015, ensuring the passage of the landmark agreement that blocked all Iranian pathways to a nuclear weapon. At a time when liberal democracy is under attack both at home and abroad, we’re grateful for the Speaker’s defense of the democratic values that the overwhelming majority of American Jews hold dear.”

Speaker Pelosi was first elected to Congress in 1987. Following the 2006 midterm elections, she became the first woman elected to serve as Speaker of the House – a role she held through 2011 and resumed in 2019. The Speaker has been a staunch advocate of a peaceful two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and of strong US diplomacy to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and to avert further crises in the Middle East. She has spoken at multiple J Street national conferences.
JStreetPAC is one of the largest and most influential pro-Israel PACs in the country. The group endorses over half of the Democratic caucus in both the House and Senate, and in 2020 endorsed the Biden-Harris campaign for president.
