Washington, DC – J Street today celebrated the 2026 midterm results as a resounding victory for the politics that the organization has championed since its founding. J Street-endorsed candidates won races across the country and will make up a majority of Democrats in both the House and the Senate in the next Congress. An estimated 98% of JStreet-backed candidates are projected to win their races.

The results cap J Street’s largest midterm political effort ever. The organization championed more than 200 endorsees for the Senate and House and raised over $13 million to support them, including $10 million in direct candidate support through its conduit and more than $3 million invested by its super PAC, the J Street Action Fund.

The Action Fund went on offense against five AIPAC-backed candidates running in competitive races, investing $3 million to support pro-democracy opponents. All five candidates won, demonstrating that candidates with a compelling message and principled positions can defeat AIPAC’s political machinery.

“Last night was a resounding victory for the politics J Street has championed since our founding. In an election with so much at stake for American democracy, we are proud to have supported a record number of candidates who share our commitment to Israel’s future, democracy and a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” said J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami.

“Voters delivered a clear rejection of the Trump administration’s reckless policies at home and abroad, including its disastrous war of choice in Iran. They made clear they want a different direction for America and a different approach in the Middle East – one that has too often failed Americans, Israelis and Palestinians alike.”

Ben-Ami continued: "Candidates like Susan Collins and Mike Lawler were among the most prominent champions of the old approach to Israel politics. AIPAC and its allies spent aggressively to protect them and voters chose candidates backed by J Street instead.

“When the new Congress is sworn in, a majority of the Democrats in both chambers will be J Street-endorsed. That is a remarkable marker of how much the politics have changed. J Street is now the center of the Democratic Party’s approach to Israel and Palestine. Our job now is to turn that new political reality into a new American policy – one grounded in diplomacy, democracy and the security and rights of both Israelis and Palestinians.”
