Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg has been the Senior Rabbi and Director of Education at Kol Ami: A Center for Jewish Life in Kirkland, WA for a decade and has served the greater Seattle area as a rabbi for over 20 years. She is of Israeli and Mizrachi heritage, the child of a refugee who emigrated from Morocco to Israel. Rabbi Kinberg is actively involved in numerous community and interfaith initiatives, including J Street, UnXceptable-Seattle, and the Washington Coalition of Rabbis. She serves as the Rabbinic Representative for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle and is a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council in the Seattle area. Additionally, she served as part of the leadership team for Northwest Interfaith and a member of Paths to Understanding. Her dedication to education and mental health is demonstrated through her roles as a Scholar-In-Residence at Holden Village and as a current board member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Washington. She has previously served on the Clergy Advisory Board for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Rabbi Kinberg is a noted presenter, having contributed to Limmud NW, NewCAJE, and Hadassah NW Region. She has also served as an instructor for Jewish Family Services of Seattle and as a presenter for the Women of Reform Judaism. Additionally, she has been a Rabbinic Advisor for the Women’s Torah Project and a past board member of the National Council of Jewish Women Seattle Section. Rabbi Kinberg is married to Rabbi Seth Goldstein and resides in Olympia, WA, with their sons Ozi Shalom and Erez Amichai, along with a menagerie of animal friends.
