Political Affairs Manager

Prior to joining J Street as the Political Affairs Manager, Joey served as a legislative staffer for Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District in both Congressman DeFazio and Congresswoman Hoyle’s offices in Washington, D.C. from 2022-2026. On Capitol Hill, Joey handled a plethora of policy issues with a focus on Foreign Affairs and antisemitism in the wake of the October 7 attacks on Israel. Before coming to D.C., Joey worked on Congressman DeFazio and then-Labor Commissioner Hoyle’s congressional campaigns as a Field Organizer and Political Director from 2020-2022. After nearly four years on Capitol Hill working for his home congressional district, Joey was eager to return to electoral politics to change the makeup of Congress with J Street. Joey grew up in Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies.
