J Street’s National Conference

February 14, 2011

Over 2,300 people from across the country came together in Washington, DC from Saturday, February 26th to Tuesday, March 1st for J Street’s second national conference — the largest ever gathering of the pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy movement.

If you couldn’t make it to Washington, you can watch a selection of sessions that we posted on our special conference homepage, including speeches by Peter Beinart, Sara Benninga, and Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish — three heroes who gave voice to our shared values. In addition to the 5 Israeli Knesset members who joined us for a fascinating and informative plenary session, Kadima Opposition leader Tzipi Livni and Israeli President Shimon Peres wrote us congratulations on the conference and wishing us success. Click here to read Livni’s letter, and here to read Peres’ letter.

The conference was an incredible gathering of experts and policy-makers, activists and thought-leaders, who joined together to stand up for Jewish and democratic values. It was a chance for us to strategize and learn, challenge and question, advocate and mobilize.

Check out photos that capture our bold vision of diversity and tolerance, peace and compromise, compassion and justice for Israel and for the Jewish community.
