“We agree with the President both in his support for the Islamic Center in Lower Manhattan and his belief that to oppose the project is at odds with the fundamental principle of religious liberty that our founders built into the DNA of this country.” “We commend the President for rising above the politics of the moment in a manner that befits the dignity of his office. Those politicians who have chosen to pander to baser instincts look even more petty in comparison to the President and Mayor Bloomberg.”
