Kudos to the 40 American Jewish leaders who signed Israel Policy Forum’s letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling on him to reject the recommendations of the Levy Commission.
The letter states, “We fear that if approved, this report will place the two-state solution and the prestige of Israel as a democratic member of the international community, in peril.” It continues, “Securing Israel’s future as a Jewish and democratic state requires diplomatic and political leadership, not legal maneuverings.”
We could not agree more.
We hope that more American Jewish leaders will stand up for Israel’s democratic Jewish future and a two-state solution. They should know that if they do, thousands of American Jews will be standing behind them in support and appreciation.
