J Street is horrified by two recent terrorist stabbing attacks against innocent Israeli civilians. Dafna Meir, a mother of six, was tragically murdered in her home in the West Bank settlement of Otniel. A pregnant woman, Michal Froman, suffered moderate wounds in a stabbing in the West Bank settlement of Tekoa. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families in this time of terrible grief, and we hope for the swift recovery of the injured.
These are sadly just the latest examples of the senseless and horrific violence that Israeli civilians have faced over the past several months. Attacking a pregnant woman and a mother in front of three of her children can inspire nothing but revulsion. These attacks lead nowhere but further down the road of suffering and fear. All parties must condemn them unequivocally and do everything they can to bring them to an end.
