New JStreetPAC Endorsees Include Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Six Top House Challengers

June 8, 2018

WASHINGTON — Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) today joined a slate of over 150 Congressional candidates supported by JStreetPAC in the 2018 election cycle.

With its latest round of endorsements, the pro-Israel, pro-peace PAC now endorses over half of the senators who caucus with Democrats, including senior leaders like Democratic Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Assistant Minority Leader Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA).

“In a historically important election year for our country, we’re thrilled to support so many candidates who are prepared to fight for diplomacy and stand up to the dangerous foreign policy of the Trump administration,” said J Street’s Political Director Aaron Davis. “With their advocacy for the two-state solution and the Iran nuclear agreement, Senator Sanders and Senator Warren have exemplified the kind of principled, pro-Israel, pro-peace leadership that we need more of in Washington.”

JStreetPAC also announced new endorsements of six prominent House challengers. Ammar Campa-Najjar (CA-50), Gil Cisneros (CA-39), Abby Finkenauer (IA-1), Katie Hill (CA-25), Katie Porter (CA-45) and Susan Wild (PA-7) all won primary elections in the past month and are prepared to take on incumbents in key competitive districts.

“By defeating President Trump’s congressional enablers and empowering a new wave of leaders, we can push back on policies that are exacerbating conflict and chaos in the Middle East,” Davis said. “These candidates represent the goals and values of American Jews and pro-Israel voters in their districts and across the country.”

JStreetPAC, which has been the largest pro-Israel PAC in the country in every election cycle since 2010, has already raised over $2.5 million for 2018. It is on pace to shatter its previous contribution record of $3.6 million set during the 2016 cycle, when the group raised 48 percent of total funds raised by pro-Israel PACs.
