Who Are the Partners for Peace?

October 14, 2010

On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, the J Street Education Fund and J Street DC Metro put on “Who Are the Partners for Peace” at Temple Sinai in Washington, DC. With direct peace talks underway and crucial decisions looming, it was a timely and thought-provoking exploration of the Palestinian side of negotiations. Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk, currently the Vice President and Director of Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution, moderated a panel of three distinguished Washington-based Palestinian leaders:

  • Dr. Amal Jadou, Deputy Chief of Mission of the General Delegation of the PLO to the U.S.
  • Amjad Atallah, Co-Director of the Middle East Task Force, New America Foundation
  • Ghaith Al-Omari, Advocacy Director, American Task Force on Palestine

J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami, Stephen Stern and Rabbi Jonathan Roos gave opening remarks.

The event is part of a national educational initiative to foster greater awareness of Palestinian partners for peace.  Click here to learn more about the work of moderate Palestinian leaders, as well as J Street’s approach to some tough questions.
