Please Note: Students who elect to not use the housing provided by J Street U will not be reimbursed the cost of local transportation to/from the event.

Travel Information

After registering for the J Street U Student Summit and being accepted, you will receive an email from Tori Walters, a member of our Events Team, with instructions for booking travel and reimbursement information. Please do not book travel until you receive this email.

Students who register before May 29th will have 100% of their travel covered. Students registering after June 1 receive highly subsidized travel.

Students are responsible for booking their own travel promptly after receiving instructions to avoid a rise in travel prices. Travel stipends are based on estimated costs from your J Street U region. Failure to book promptly may result in an increase in ticket prices that J Street may not cover.

J Street U uses a reimbursement model for issuing travel stipends. Students are required to purchase their own travel, and submit receipts for reimbursement after booking, using our reimbursement form. Detailed instructions for reimbursement will be included in the logistics email. Reimbursements will be distributed in multiple rounds leading up to and following the Summit.

A Travel Stipend applies to flights, trains, and gas over $50 to any student who requires a stipend. J Street U does not include checked luggage or transportation to and from airports or train stations when calculating your travel stipend, unless approved on a case by case basis. A stipend is based on the estimated cost of your travel at the time of your registration.

J Street U is committed to providing equitable opportunities for all students to come to our events. We are committed to making finances as little a burden as possible.

If you have any concerns about the cost of travel to the Summit, please reach out to your J Street U coordinator. If you do not know your J Street U coordinator, you can also reach out to Tori Walters at [email protected]
