Janette Hillis-Jaffe established J Street’s Boston office, initially serving as the Regional Political Director and then Special Adviser to the New England Region from 2010 to 2013. She returned as Regional Director for New England in 2018, before taking on her current roles. Janette has over two decades of experience in marketing, development and political organizing, including helping to fund anti-poverty and public health programs as a development consultant in Israel; supporting the development of GENKI, a citizens’ environmental movement in Tokyo; evaluating a maternal child health system in Pakistan with the Aga Khan Health Service; and directing the Massachusetts Child Hunger Initiative for Project Bread in Boston. Janette holds a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and is the author of the book, Everyday Healing. Janette has lived in Jerusalem for six years as an adult and is equally comfortable in Orthodox shuls or the Arab shuk. She lives in Sharon, Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.
