J Street Launches “J Street Policy Center,” New Hub For Original Analysis and Policy Recommendations

September 20, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC – J Street, the pro-Israel, pro-peace advocacy organization, today announced the launch of the new J Street Policy Center, which will produce original analysis and other resources to inform and educate elected officials, policymakers and advocates on issues related to US policy toward Israel, Palestine and the broader Middle East.

A program of the 501(c)(3) J Street Education Fund, the new Policy Center is committed to convening and amplifying the work of diverse experts who endeavor to drive forward diplomacy and conflict resolution in the region. It will be led by Dylan Williams, J Street’s Senior Vice President for Policy and Strategy, and Dr. Debra Shushan, Director of Policy. The Policy Center’s Advisory Council will be chaired by renowned foreign policy authority Morton Halperin.

“Beyond merely studying or commenting on the challenges facing Israelis and Palestinians, the J Street Policy Center will aim to empower our elected officials and policymakers to take more effective and timely action to promote peace, security and human rights in the region,” said Williams. “We’re excited to put forward analyses and recommendations that can help improve the overall shape and direction of American foreign policy.”

As part of its launch, the J Street Policy Center today will host its first policy symposium, “Israel-Arab Normalization and Advancing Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Resolution.” More than 50 leading experts and advocates from prominent institutions in the US and abroad will participate in the symposium, both virtually and in-person, in the nation’s capital. Key findings and recommendations from the symposium will be summarized and publicly shared by the Policy Center in a compendium to follow.
