Bassam and Rami, the protagonists of McCann’s new novel, are former Co-Directors of The Parents Circle — an organization that brings together Israeli and Palestinian families who have suffered the loss of a family member as a result of the conflict. In this conversation — facilitated by J Street Chief of Staff and Philadelphia-localite Adina Vogel-Ayalon — these brave, bereaved fathers will tell of their personal losses and how that led to their deep and enduring relationship.
