J Street Statement on Rocket Fire from Gaza

J Street is deeply concerned about the spate of rockets from Gaza fired on southern Israel over the past two days and about the potential of this latest escalation of violence to spiral out of control.

We unequivocally condemn the targeting of Israeli civilians and find Hamas’ boasting about these intentions despicable.

We call on Hamas to immediately stop the rocket attacks. As Israel rightfully weighs its options in deciding how best to protect its citizens from further attack, we pray that further harm to civilians can be avoided.
