We are deeply saddened by the passing of Congressman Donald Payne of New Jersey. As a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Congressman Payne fought tirelessly to improve the lives of those around the world struggling with poverty, disease and poor access to education. We will remember him as not just a passionate advocate for Israel and Middle East peace, but as someone who exemplified the Jewish virtue of tikkun olam— the call to repair the world.
